If you don’t want that “silver look” when you smile, consider Invisalign.
The idea of wearing metal braces for a couple years can be very discouraging. Invisalign® offers an almost invisible alternative that straightens teeth fast and contains no metal.
Invisalign® treatment uses a series of custom-made aligning trays. Dr. Kinsey changes the trays every several weeks as the tooth configuration changes. Invisalign® aligning trays can even be temporarily removed for important occasions so this option is more flexible.
Is Invisalign® right for me?
Invisalign® fixes the same dental problems as metal braces, but the Invisalign® trays are nearly invisible to the naked eye, and can be removed easily.
Here are some problems that are commonly corrected with Invisalign®:
Overcrowding – When there is too little space for the teeth to align normally in the mouth, this is a problem that can cause tooth decay and increase the likelihood of gum disease.
Gaps between teeth – Nobody wants that!
Crossbite – This happens when one or multiple upper teeth bite inside the lower teeth.
Overbite – This happens when the upper teeth project further than, or completely cover, the lower teeth. Eventually other problems may occur.
Underbite – This is the opposite of the overbite. The lower teeth project further than, or completely cover, the upper teeth. Eventually other problems may occur.
Is the Invisalign® treatment easy?
First, Dr. Kinsey needs to develop a treatment plan before creating the special aligning trays. 3D images are taken of the entire jaw that allows Dr. Kinsey to move specific teeth on the screen, view the jaw from different angles, and also show you what your face might look like years down the road. This technology can show you how Invisalign® trays will change how your face looks.
When planning is complete, a custom set of aligners is made. The total amount of aligners required is different with each individual case, but 20-29 sets per arch is normal.
Is Invisalign® easy to use?
Invisalign® aligning trays may take several weeks to get used to. They should be worn constantly, other than when you are eating and drinking.
New trays are made every two weeks and the straightening process is obvious. Invisalign® aligning trays have revolutionized orthodontics. Invisalign® is well known for being both comfortable and effective.
